Shadow Chancellor visits Sedgefield

Shadow Chancellor George Osborne MP visited the Sedgefield constituency today in support of local Conservative candidate Graham Robb. They visited Engineering Off-Site Systems UK (EOS UK) on the Newton Aycliffe Industrial Park and were given a tour of the 40,000 sq ft factory by the company's Director, Mr Michael O'Connell. EOS UK manufacture light guage steel applications for the construction industry.

Following the visit Graham Robb said:

'The innovation and entrepeneurial spirit demonstrated by Michael and his team is hugely immpressive and is an example of just the kind of attitude to small business development I think can make a real difference in this constituency, and across the North East region.'

'Gordon Brown is no friend of small businesses - he recently raised the small business tax from 19% to 22%, to say nothing of the 10 years of regualtions and red tape which he has heaped on the business community.'

'Local companies like EOS UK deserve support just as much as the larger businesses, which are able to secure big grants. We must help our small businesses to flourish so that we can create jobs, see economic growth and secure wealth generation for the future.'
